1957 Dodge W-300

While this was my third vintage Dodge 4 wheel drive truck, it was the first one I actually registered and drove on the road (legally!) I owned this truck for many years and over the course of my ownership I completely rebuilt all of the mechanical systems. I swapped the original engine for a 1960 318 Poly and a brand new NP435 transmission. In the rear axle I installed a Lock-Rite locker and in the front axle an ARB air locker. With the lockers and the 11:00-16 military Michelin XZL tires, this truck was unstoppable. I plowed my driveway in Vermont with this for many years. Often the snow would be coming up over the top of the plow and up onto the front fenders and she just kept pushing. The exterior patina was preserved by spraying a dull clear coat over it.
