I purchased this truck as a parts truck, specifically the Model 700 radio. This is the very rare factory AM radio that was installed up under the headliner of the roof. When I got the truck back to the shop and started looking more closely at it I realized it was much better than a parts truck. I got it running and driving, fixing what was worn in the drivetrain. The front fenders were rusted through above the headlights and the floorboards and footwells were rusted out. Using some "New Old Stock" fender patch panels and fabricating other panels from scratch we cut out all of the rot and welded in new metal. The stake body was original as well, I replaced some of the wood of the sides. Tempted though I was to take the radio out for my 1957 W-100 I couldnt bring myself to do it!
